The First Convertible Gaming Laptop from ASUS ROG’s 2021 Lineup

ASUS has unveiled its new gaming laptops for 2021, and the launch includes the ROG Flow X13, the company’s first two-in-one convertible gaming laptop. The fact that Asus is coming up with a 2-in-1 gaming laptop is a big deal and tech enthusiasts are quite exciting about the recent development. The laptop has a 13-inch screen display which is ideal for media consumption and gaming.

ROG Flow X13’s design is unique and it stands out from the usual Asus laptops. If the Taiwanese company is to be believed the laptop can last up to 10 hours on a single charging. The device boasts a 100W USB-C charger that can charge the laptop up to 50 percent in just 30 minutes. It offers a 120Hz FHD touch display with a 3840 × 2400 display resolution and a 16:10 aspect ratio.

The Flow X13 has AMD’s Ryzen 9 5980HS processor that is specifically designed for gaming laptops. The processor is quite powerful but Asus could have done better. They could have enhanced the performance of the device if the company had paired it with a powerful GPU, but they went for the entry-level GeForce GTX 1650 GPU instead. So you won’t be able to utilize the true power of the AMD’s Ryzen 9 5980HS processor.

But the company says if you use the ROG XG Mobile, an external GPU with the laptop, it can enhance the laptop’s gaming performance. This external GPU acts as a power adaptor and can include up to Nvidia’s GeForce GTX 3080 graphics. But the overall cost for the laptop and GPU can go up to $2,999.99, which is pretty expensive for most people.

ROG Zephyrus Duo 15 SE

ROG Zephyrus Duo 15 SE is a dual display gaming laptop, its regular display is 15.6 inches and comes with 4K resolution, and a 120 Hz or 300FHD panel. Its second display is built into the keyboard deck (the top half of the keyboard), it is 14.1 inches and comes with a 3840 × 1100 or 1920 × 550 resolution. You can use the main display to play games and the other one to check emails or some other task. Multitasking is left to the imagination of the consumers as dual-display can be used in many ways.

The laptop comes with AMD’s Ryzen 9 5900HX processor and it’s paired with Nvidia’s GeForce RTX 3080 GPU that will give you a nice gaming experience. In addition to it, ROG Zephyrus Duo 15 SE features up to 32GB of RAM and 2TB of storage. You can order this device now at the ASUS Store, it’s cheaper than Flow X13, and costs $2,899.99.

Strix Scar 15 and Strix Scar 17

Strix Scar 15 and Strix Scar 17 are two new additions from ASUS, both the laptops feature an optical-mechanical keyboard. The screen-to-body ratio of the device is a bit higher than most laptops (it’s up to 85 percent). In addition to it, the laptops offer updated cooling systems, bigger batteries, quad speakers with Dolby Atmos technology, and support for Type-C charging.

You get a 360Hz panel option with the Scar 17 that will give you the fastest display experience. Besides this, both the laptops feature the latest Ryzen and Nvidia chips, a Ryzen 9 5900HX processor, and a GeForce RTX 3080 GPU. They don’t have much price difference as each one is available for around $1,799.99.
